Sustainability [suh-stey-nuh-bil-i-tee] noun
The quality of not being harmful to the environment or depleting natural resources, and thereby supporting long-term ecological balance.
For decades now the World has produced and quickly disposed of products from all sorts of non-renewable, environmentally damaging sources. Rather than support the continual production of raw materials from unsustainable sources, BiGR Audio is looking to renewable and recycled materials for use in manufacturing.
As our headphones demonstrate, renewable materials are the way of the future; they are not only environmentally friendly, but inspirational in the design process as well.
There are around 1500 species of bamboo, hence its versatility, and it can be harvested in just 3-5 years compared with 10-20 years for most softwoods.
Bamboo is gaining popularity all over the world for many reasons including it’s strength, versatility, and that it is an all-natural, incredibly renewable resource that helps to eliminate a portion of the widespread clear cutting of our world’s precious rain forests. Bamboo is the fastest growing grass. It requires low impact harvesting, little to no irrigation, and it replenishes itself naturally due to its extensive root system.
The type of bamboo used most frequently is Phyllostachys Pubescens. This “Moso” bamboo varietal is the most handsome, yet abundant type of bamboo, it isn’t preferred by pandas, and it can grow up to 18 inches in a day and up to 80 feet tall in just 3 years.
- Fastest growing grass
- Tensile strength – comparable to steel
- Replenishes naturally
- Low impact harvesting

BEECHWOOD & ROSEWOOD (HARDWOOD)
Hardwoods are durable; many products have a service life of greater than 50 years and often require little energy in maintenance. They can also be recycled, which is important in terms of storing carbon through the life of a product and its transformation.
Beech is a natural material; with careful planning and resettlement it is almost inexhaustible. In fact, the Beech forests are the most sustainable in the World.
Beech has a large root system that causes erosion; its removal is necessary to protect the landscape. So BiGR Audio can say that by using Beechwood we are supporting sustainable development.
Indian Rosewood is plentiful and available in excellent quality. Supplies of this wood from India and other countries is sustainable and responsibly harvested.
BiGR Audio prefers Rosewood with dark, tight, close grain wood which gives terrific sound and outstanding stability over the life of the headphones.

Optimum hardness, elasticity and flexibility to deliver an adaptable system that provides a great support and great design possibilities
Electromagnetic properties: wood helps us to recover the electromagnetic balance during the hours of rest.
Aluminum is lightweight, strong and infinitely recyclable.
As the World strives for a more fuel efficient future, recycled aluminum is a big part of the solution. Lightweight, strong and infinitely recyclable, aluminum products can lower energy costs and carbon emissions in dozens of applications. Highly recycled and lightweight aluminum products reduce shipping costs and carbon emissions. And independent studies have confirmed that aluminum has a 20 percent smaller life cycle CO2 footprint than steel. From vehicle light-weighting alone, the aluminum industry is approaching carbon neutrality.
In addition, recent technological advances and voluntary environmental efforts mean that aluminum made is more sustainable today than ever before. Aluminum’s sustainability is at the forefront of creating competitive business advantages while also providing product development advantages. Strong, lightweight and infinitely recyclable, aluminum is a vital material that keeps the modern world moving.
